Organic colours explode across the canvas. The painting represents Natures reawakening, and marching forward covering up what has gone before, layer upon layer. Rebirth following destruction.
This is one of 2 paintings that I have reworked as I created it during lock down, it was very different from my usual style.
The beauty of working over a painting is that it is possible to create multiple layers of colour and texture.
As Nature replaces what has gone before, I wanted to change the mood of the painting reflecting the happier emotions that I am now feeling.
Background is white but multilayered and coloured.
Colours. Naphthol red, sap green, green gold, copper, nickel azo gold, white, sepia, gold.
